A tummy tuck, technically known as Abdominoplasty can be done in
several different manners according to the individual's shape
and condition, and is common to both women and men. The two
basic techniques are called mini tummy tuck and full tummy tuck,
and the procedure that's right for you will be determined during
consultation. You will be assessed as to probable outcome.
The best candidate for tummy tuck is a person who is stabilized
at or slightly above desired weight but still bothered by a
protruding abdomen. Extreme or rapid weight loss sometimes
causes overhanging excess skin with the only alternative being a
tummy tuck.
For the first day following surgery, complete bed rest is
recommended. Walking bent over is also advised during the first
week. Sutures are removed within two weeks. There will be some
scarring which usually fades significantly over time.
As with all cosmetic surgery, results will be rewarding if
expectations are realistic. |
