Breast Lift Surgery or Mastoplexy is designed to raise, reshape
and firm breasts that have sagged due to the effects of
pregnancy, aging or the forces of gravity. In some instances,
women who want to enlarge their breast size will choose to
augment (implant) in conjunction with a lift. This will be
discussed at length during consultation.
Breast lift is performed in our office surgical facility, and
the process can last from one to three hours. Excess breast
tissue is removed and the remaining tissue, areola and nipple
are repositioned.
There may be temporary bruising and swelling with some
discomfort. Any pain can be alleviated with medication. You will
be advised to wear a bra (day and night) for the first month.
Stitches will be removed within two weeks. Scars will be
visible, but will probably fade significantly in time. However,
they will never disappear completely. Recovery rate is rapid,
with most patients back to work within one week. It is important
to avoid strenuous activity, such as lifting, bending, or
stretching for about a month. |
